The first of its kind to be implemented in Barbados, the Bajan Dream Project is a social initiative that seeks to reduce housing inadequacy as an indicator of poverty in Barbados. The project is targeted at undersheltered individuals who live in poverty throughout Barbados, giving them the chance to live the "Bajan dream" through the replacement or repair of their homes, and the provision of the means to escape from the grasps of poverty. The project incorporates state lobbying, housing needs assessment and fundraising to help relieve the plight of inadequately sheltered individuals with the cooperation of state relief agencies.
